There’s only a couple of reasons you’d be reading this…
- I got famous and you’re doing some due diligence (I really hope its that one)
- You were looking for the tennis player (or maybe the actor…?) and you stumbled onto my page somehow. Sorry to disappoint.
- I’ve only ever posted this one piece (sad).
- I got really good at SEO.
- I got infamous and you’re doing some due diligence (I hope its not that one)
Regardless, I’m happy you’re here, and can only hope that you will (have) enjoy(ed) your time.
I deleted my Facebook page a couple of years ago now (before Caimbridge Analytica, even) and after the allure of Instagram wore off, I needed something to fill the void, so I figured why not start shouting into it. Over the past few years, I’ve become increasingly concerned at how social relationships have devolved to the lowest common denominator – a trend that has been accelerated by social media in my opinion – and am deeply concerned about the trajectory of American society.
I’ve also come to realize that technology’s incessant acceleration of everything is going to force us as a society to deal with big, meaningful, life-changing issues long before we have the ability to truly understand what their longer-term impacts are (digital privacy, universal basic income, artificial intelligence, and designer babies, just to name a few).
My goal here is to synthesize important, relevant content, in order to heighten the level of discussion across various arenas including history, philosophy, economics, and politics.
I’m originally from St. Louis, but today I live in Kansas City, Missouri.
